Rick Santorum’s creepy, crazy, and utterly pointless quest for the presidency has to end, I cannot take another weird, gloomily religious speech. I am tired of the constant Obama bashing, interspersed with the sly comments that hint at the UN-Christianness of the President. Rick Santorum has his faith to help him make every little decision in his life, and that is his business, but Americans REALLY don’t want their president’s religion dictating the way we live. Marriage Equality: Marriage for everyone who wants it
Here is my philosophy on marriage: It is an arrangement between consenting adults, period. Why get caught up with the gender, race, religion of the people who want to legally bind themselves together? Continue reading
Calling Senior voters with common sense
Dear Senior voter,
Many Americans a mite younger than you have always looked to your example when making important decisions, like choosing a president. As someone who spent a good portion of her youth working in nursing homes, caring for the elderly, I know for a fact that older Americans are a veritable treasure trove of knowledge and history. The Supreme Court has allowed those with enough money to run their own campaigns for the candidate of their choice, and you know that is going to have heinous repercussions. Continue reading

GOP pandering to the right will cost women voters
Women still constitute over half of the US population. And we do vote. So, when you consider the flurry of ‘Personhood’ bills popping up in southern states, coupled with all the Pro-life rhetoric disguised as conservatism spouted by GOP candidates, one has to wonder….. Continue reading
Virginian women’s rights undermined, or, Virginia, on my mind (and in other places!)
Aside from a bill that defines personhood at conception and bans some methods of contraception(very close in tone to the recent bill passed by the Oklahoma Senate), the Virginia House of Delegates also passed a preliminary measure, sponsored by Republican Delegate Kathy J. Byron, requiring a woman to receive an ultrasound before having an abortion. Continue reading
