Dear MoveOn member,

Next week, October 24-27, we’d like to invite you to a special limited run of a show we hope you’ll love. We’re teaming up with Press Here Productions to co-sponsor the critically acclaimed political rabble-rousers The Citizens Band for a series of incredible shows at the Abrons Arts Center.

When’s the last time you saw a show that inspired you to laugh, dance, sing, AND join a movement? A showstopping mix of political and socially conscious cabaret, The Citizens Band’s immersive live shows are aimed at declaring war on apathy and reminding the country why democracy matters.

It’s a night of music, theater, and magic called Grab a Root and Growl, a musical call to action that will leave you inspired and ready to rumble! It will feature amazing performers like Karen Elson, Zoe Kravitz, Nina Persson, Angela McCluskey, Ian Buchanan, and Rain Phoenix, plus special guests Julia Stiles and Joe Sumner.

Grab a Root and Growl is co-sponsored by MoveOn Political Action and will feature special information on how you can help fight the voter suppression we’re seeing in swing states through our new campaign, Voters Rising.

Voters Rising uses revolutionary technology and the combined volunteer power of MoveOn and the AFL-CIO to identify and turn out as many progressive voters as possible. It’s poised to be the largest and most effective independent turnout program ever, and the technology behind it means that one volunteer can now do the work of five.

Not only will we be spreading the word about Voters Rising, but The Citizens Band is also donating a portion of the profits from ticket sales to the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics, a non-profit association of community-based, free medical clinics in the United States that serves Americans with little or no health insurance and performs public policy advocacy.

Please join us for this incredible night of music and inspiration!

Thanks for all you do,

Laura Dawn, Angela, and the whole MoveOn Creative Team
