Moment of Clarity With Investigative Journalist Greg Palast – YouTube

Enjoy this first YouTube video from the Moment of Clarity folks, with the always interesting Greg Palast, author of Vulture’s Picnic as an interviewee, whom I admire greatly.  You undoubtedly noticed that I loved Vulture’s Picnic and the investigative reporting Palast did on the Big Oil industry from earlier posts on this blog.  I definitely will pick up the new Palast book, Billionaires & Ballot Bandits, which is coming out September 18, 2012.  The topic of the interview is voting and stolen elections, and some of the truths Greg Palast has uncovered. Recommended reading for a not so cold night.

Got some books from all over the spectrum on current Nook rotation this month, even I can’t focus on Decision 2012 all the time!

Since it is February, I picked up the smart woman’s romance novel, about fellow storm chasers roaming the American plains. The book is Funnel Vision, by Christine Kridler, who is herself, a veteran storm chaser and videographer.

Also very excited to read Chris Mathew’s latest, Jack Kennedy: Elusive Hero, just because I am a huge fan of Hardball, Chris is my favorite Pennsylvanian, and I know next to nothing about JFK.

Finally, I am two thirds the way through The Lolita Effect:The Media Sexualization of Young Girls and What We Can Do About It by M. Gigi Durham.  This book is so thought provoking, Durham really shines a light on the warped way children are portrayed in media and product advertising.  The book ought to be required reading for anyone who works with the generation growing up now.
