I’m ashamed to say that quite a bit of the information Jon discloses in the preceding video was news to me… I just don’t think about guns because I don’t own any. I don’t hunt, sport shoot, and even though I live in the big bag metro area, I haven’t yet wanted a gun for protection. However, I was very naive about the mess gun control laws really are in. But then, as I look back at the way the country has treated guns and the way we use them, it all comes clear.

So, Robert Shepherd at Move On has a petition opposing the Monsanto Riders. These riders would require the Secretary of Agriculture to grant a temporary permit for the planting or cultivation of a genetically engineered crop. Who wants to eat Franken-Food? Not me, and I will say again, I buy organic foods as much as possible. Iran wants to develop a nuclear program, amid fears a that they will achieve a nuclear bomb in the near future. Israel is getting increasingly nervous, and is under suspicion for the recent assassinations of Iranian scientists. Tensions are rising in the Middle East yet again, now with the specter of another war in the region raising its head. Oil prices are guaranteed to rise to new heights, amidst all this uncertainty. Not a lot of good news for American consumers, already suffering under recent economic hardships. Somehow, we’ve just become complacent and accepting to this tiresome threat to our prosperity.
