Whether you think Romney won last night’s first Presidential debate of Election 2012 on style, or if you are left wondering at the calm demeanor displayed by President Obama, you must admit there were a preponderance of falsehoods uttered on that stage. Whipsaw Willard was living large last night in Denver, just banging out the best performance of his life, even pushing the moderator around, evoking shades of Newt Gingrich in the primaries. False statements notwithstanding, Mitt Romney is considered by the media as benefiting from his aggressive behavior at the debate. This makes me wonder: Is this truly an election where facts don’t matter? Continue reading

Politics Make Strange Bedfellows
Who would have thought a mega rich porn star and a Jewish billionaire casino magnate would both endorse Mitt Romney? Sheldon Adelson is chairman and chief executive officer of the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, the parent company of Venetian Macao Limited which operates The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino and the Sands Expo and Convention Center. Highly trained men willing to take a bullet for those in their safekeeping. You’d never guess they would fall prey to this petite threat from Colombia during President Obama’s visit:

Eleven Secret Service agents were eventually sent home in disgrace from Cartagena on Colombia’s Caribbean coast after a wild night of partying that saw many of the agents bring escorts back to their rooms, according to reports. Continue reading

Money Cult
Just a quick thought, as someone who really does not have a lot of money, it kind of tickles me the way Americans treat successful businesspeople with reverence and awe. This worship of the wealthy manifests itself in many ways. The media breathlessly follows the activity of the young rich heirs and heiresses, who are famous for basically being wealthy, with a zeal formally reserved for movie stars. Continue reading
