FAA Inconvenience Leads Action, Unlike Impact To Vulnerable Americans

How’s the sequestration treating you?  Most may ask, ‘What Sequestration?’.  Alot of folks stopped paying attention to this sort of thing, due to fatigue, so it is understandable that they would not know.  It’s a state of broad departmental budget cuts to government programs and services.  We are gifted with this albatross because the last Congress could not pass a budget.  The doomsday scenarios the White House and some Democrats warned against haven’t happened.  Yet.

The country has not imploded yet, nor been invaded by a foreign entity.   Personally, I haven’t been affected at all by sequestration, which I think is indicative of the experience of most Americans, because I am self sufficient, I have no special needs that require federal aid.  Unless you need a service of any kind…..that you depend on to eat, take care of yourself and family, to educate children.  You know, nothing of real importance to the media, or the average Senator and Congressperson.  Like booking a flight home from Washington!

Awareness has grown, since plenty of Americans, particularly business travelers were highly inconvenienced this week, as indicated by this article:  FAA Leads Sequestration Coverage Despite Impact To Vulnerable CommunitiesContinue reading

Petraeus Career Ends Over Jealous Gal Pal?

You know, I think I will never understand people, let alone men.  It always astounds me when they risk sterling reputations, illustrious careers, and immense power for inappropriate relationships.

Just when we had forgotten about the Secret Service and the unpaid hooker, and the unprecedented douchery of John Edwards, here’s CIA Director, David H. Petraeus.   A retired four-star Army general, once talked about as a future presidential candidate, resigned as CIA chief Friday because he had been exposed having an extramarital affair. Obama Wins 2012 Presidential Race

I don’t care what anyone says, America loves a good O!

Or, at least I do. Watching this speech, I fell in love with my president all over again. I’ve posted President Barack Obama’s victory speech here, just in case you missed it last night just like I did. Enjoy!

The Agony and the Ecstasy of President Obama’s New Term

I woke this morning to the good news.  President Obama had one a hard fought, long battle to stay in the White House for four more years.  I cannot stay up late, I have to man my post at work very early, so the news came as a pleasant start to my day.

As someone who believes in good sportsmanship, I refrained from crowing my pleasure, only giving in to one positive tweet:

ceceliamorgan Woke up to my preferred president! Color me optimistic!

After all the ups and downs, dog-whistles, and ridiculousness of the GOP Primary, and horribly divisive Romney campaign filled with fact averse statements, and the most pumped up media coverage of a presidential race to date, America chose to stay the course. Continue reading

Voting For Election 2012, Check!

November 6, 2012 is finally here.

Election day at last!!!  Like a good little citizen, I went to my local polling place, waited in line, got my ballot, made my selection, and exercised my civic duty and precious right to vote.  The whole process took less than twenty minutes to my surprise, perhaps due to the fact my district enjoyed a short ballot this year.  I hope your experience was as pleasant!  Now all that’s left to do is wait for the results, the continuation of the Obama administration, or a less clear path under Mitt Romney.

I really got a kick out of the people from other nations, whose curiosity about the way Americans vote, made me think about the whole process in a new way.

Still Undecided? Watch This

In the words of Vice President Joe Biden, election 2012 is shaping up to be a big f@#$ing deal!!! Even the creative types who work on popular animated television shows know this election is so very important!
In an effort to entertain and be informative I have found a digital video treat for you, kids. Enjoy this Pro-President Obama campaign ad, see what you think, and drop me a line, ok?

Ann Romney To The Rescue

The ‘miracle worker’, Ann Romney, gave the speech of her life at the RNC last month, hoping to win over Republican voters of the female persuasion to Mitt Romney’s cause.  She highlighted their courtship and early years in an attempt to humanize him to the public.  Ann Romney’s fans loved it, her detractors found it forced and not authentic. Remember When Bill Clinton Owned Fox News

Former President Clinton has a gift for communicating effectively, and is a noted skillful negotiator.  So, it came as no surprise to us that Bubba is still so awesome in the speech making department, when he masterfully stumped for President Barack Obama at the DNC — but you should think twice before pulling a shasty (shasty: a Cecelia-ism defined as a combination of shady and nasty) move during a sit down interview, like the one journalist Chris Wallace tried in this 2006 Fox News video clip lifted from Upworthy.com.  Continue reading
