The Agony and the Ecstasy of President Obama’s New Term

I woke this morning to the good news.  President Obama had one a hard fought, long battle to stay in the White House for four more years.  I cannot stay up late, I have to man my post at work very early, so the news came as a pleasant start to my day.

As someone who believes in good sportsmanship, I refrained from crowing my pleasure, only giving in to one positive tweet:

ceceliamorgan Woke up to my preferred president! Color me optimistic!

After all the ups and downs, dog-whistles, and ridiculousness of the GOP Primary, and horribly divisive Romney campaign filled with fact averse statements, and the most pumped up media coverage of a presidential race to date, America chose to stay the course. Continue reading

Voting For Election 2012, Check!

November 6, 2012 is finally here.

Election day at last!!!  Like a good little citizen, I went to my local polling place, waited in line, got my ballot, made my selection, and exercised my civic duty and precious right to vote.  The whole process took less than twenty minutes to my surprise, perhaps due to the fact my district enjoyed a short ballot this year.  I hope your experience was as pleasant!  Now all that’s left to do is wait for the results, the continuation of the Obama administration, or a less clear path under Mitt Romney.

I really got a kick out of the people from other nations, whose curiosity about the way Americans vote, made me think about the whole process in a new way.

This gives Obama a 91% chance to win, Message from Chris Bowers

Getting closer to catching you up on my correspondence, provided for your perusal a email from September 9th on the election, and what we can do to affect the outcome, in these dark times of voter suppression efforts in several key states.

If you think helping to get people to the polls is important, and something you would like to help with, please click the hyperlinks in the body of the email below:

Coming of the Green

I want to draw your attention to some interesting articles, that seem to signify to me that the greenification of the United States of America, and our economy will happen. The when is the sticking part, since Big Oil, Coal, Gas, Agro, Pharma and the dinosaurs that want to recapture the lifestyles of the 1950′s era won’t get out of the way. Continue reading

RNC was pretty scary, Like Invasion of the Body Snatchers-Style

Any one get creeped out by the expressions on the faces of the delegates and other attendees? The mixture of anger and glee on their faces at the same time was frightening, and just weird. The joyful way they dived into hating the on President Barack Obama, the government, and any others they see as “against real People, and freedom”.
The language used when talking to reporters, the uncanny way they are never swayed by fact, moved by compassion for others, or ever stray one iota from the party line was chilling.  The very words bold, failure, and built have been kicked to death by misuse.  Continue reading

Mrs. Trump Creates Jobs, Just For The Chinese

Since the recession really deepened, I make an effort to buy American products when I can, and I make it my business to check where the item I am considering is made.  I was browsing QVC today (don’t Judge me!), and I came across this link: Melania Timepieces & Fashion Jewelry — Jewelry—QVC.com.

Remember that fellow that expressed interest in running for President of these United States?  You know, that fellow who has been questioning our current President, Barack Obama’s status as an American citizen, accusing him of failure and deceit at every opportunity (when not feuding with other “celebrities” in the press)?  Continue reading

Romney blocks media from Ryan’s First Vegas Engagement

Hmmm, wonder why the Romney campaign has decided to go low key with the hotshot, buff new running-mate Paul Ryan?   What could go wrong at a fundraiser, right out of the gate on Paul Ryan’s first crack at raising money? Continue reading

Mitt: Social Moron Abroad

Insulting whole nations is not an appropriate activity for someone who wants to be President of the United States.  Staging cheesy speeches to garner Jewish and Catholic votes at the expense of this country’s reputation is crazy…. Okay, not that crazy, given the state of  the modern Republican party’s unprecedented love of greedy, self interested attitudes, dog whistle sound bytes, and blind devotion to staying on message, even when the message is stupid. Continue reading
