Kids, if you haven’t figured it out by now, I have something to tell you. I am nonreligious. Call me atheist, agnostic if you want. I prefer to be labeled as logical. I am not a fan of organized religion, spirituality, or any of that sort of thing. I personally think it is silly. Now, I don’t make public jabs at people who are imbibers of religion and all its mystical trappings. I figure that is their business if they want to be limited and held back by fantasy and outmoded rules. I’m not a bubble buster, I don’t tell others what they should believe. I don’t tell people when they can’t sing, or are too old for miniskirts either. Hey, live and let live as they say.
Where my tolerance ends is when other American’s religious beliefs infringe on my rights and liberties. My reproductive rights, my right to pursue happiness with the partner of my choice are mine to exercise as an American, not to be determined or infringed on by a Rabbi, Imam, Priest or employer fill with religious fervor! And, isn’t it funny, it is always the woman’s rights and liberties that are affected by the rules of holy books and the clergy that represent the myriad institutions of major religious groups?
