We New Yorkers that do the work that does not pay so great, yet is vital to daily life, can not seem to get the basic benefit of a single paid sick day. Who will help us? Once again, the Working Families Party is hard at work for the working person here New York. Lend your support if you can, by clicking the petition link.
Cecelia,
The campaign for paid sick days in New York is gaining momentum. Prominent women like Gloria Steinem and Susan Sarandon, labor leaders, economists and small business owners have shown their support, but Speaker Quinn still refuses to allow a vote.On Thursday, we’ll deliver 50,000 petition signatures to Speaker Quinn, calling for a vote. We’re almost there — but we need your help one more time to push us over the top.
Nobody should have to choose between their family’s health and their job. Sign our petition urging Speaker Quinn to allow a vote on the Paid Sick Time Act:

Thanks for your support,
-Joe Dinkin, Working Families Party
P.S. — With our allies and a parade of dozens of parents with baby strollers, we’ll be delivering the signatures at City Hall on Thursday at noon. We’d love to have you there. If you can make it, especially if you’re a parent, please send Emmanuel an email at ecaicedo@workingfamilies.org to RSVP. Thanks again.
I love to share the more interesting emails with you, and I often find the emails I receive from the Working Families Party usually fit that category.
